The hospital was established in 1994 by Dr Lawrence M Fox, a native of the South Side, and Dr JB Bruederle. We provide a broad spectrum of diagnostic procedures through in-house testing and the use of external laboratories. We also work closely with local practices when special diagnostic procedures are required. The facility includes a well-stocked pharmacy, in-hospital surgery suite, in-house x-ray capabilities, ultrasound, a closely supervised hospitalization area, and indoor boarding kennels with outdoor walking areas.
At Burnham Park Animal Hospital we strive to offer not only sound advice, but also optimal veterinary care, thus allowing you the enjoyment of your companion for a maximum number of years. Our job is not only to treat your pet when he or she isn’t feeling well, but also to help you learn how to keep your best friend happy and healthy.
Marie is a 19-year-old African Grey Parrot. She has lived here at Burnham Park Animal Hospital since 2000 when her owner surrendered her to us. She used to pluck her feathers due to anxiety and was almost completely bald, but has significantly improved since we took her in. African Grey Parrots are extremely intelligent and have some of the most advanced vocabulary of any bird. Marie is too shy to talk in front of strangers, but loves to sing to us from her perch in our treatment area. African Grey Parrots have a lifespan of up to 80 years, so Marie is just a teenager (and she acts like one too). Marie likes head scratches, chocolate, and mimicking cats and dogs. Marie is a great example of the great work we do here. We understand animals and will do whatever is necessary to make them feel comfortable and get the job done. This is not our first rodeo and our experts here will ensure you that your pet will be in great hands.
