We have the capability to run in-house bloodwork panels, which are used for pre-surgical results and ill pet cases. Efficient and reliable bloodwork results advise our doctors when treating your pet's case while you're still here.
Skin scrapings, ear cytology, mass aspirations and more can all be tested in-house with results within minutes.
In-house urinalysis testing allows us to diagnose health issues related to diabetes and changes in urination habits within minutes.
A fecal screening is recommended by our doctors annually to monitor your pet for intestinal parasites such as roundworms, hookworms, tapeworms, coccidia, and giardia. Due to the high population of pets in the city of Chicago, intestinal parasites are spread easily and quickly via dog parks, grooming/boarding facilities, and dog-friendly apartment buildings. Intestinal parasites can cause diarrhea, vomiting, lethargy, and decreased appetite among other symptoms. When a puppy/kitten is coming from a breeder or shelter environment, we always recommend screening them for parasites even if they've received a deworming medication before their visit with us.
